Description and use

Massive stock update

Complete module for updating stocks of a product and its combinations from a CSV file, being able to automate the updates through cron tasks from the server. Update the stock of your product suppliers (dropshipping).

The module has 3 modes of operation

Local use (by csv file upload).
Remote use (by downloading a previously configured csv file).
Scheduled use by cron (by downloading previously configured csv file) by token (only store administrator could call the execution of this script).

Local use of the stock updater

Allows you to configure the following options:

Field to search for the stock update (you can search by ean13, reference, supplier reference and product ids).
You can configure whether or not the csv file to be uploaded includes a header to skip it.
You can choose the delimiter of the csv file for separating the fields (semicolon, comma, ^, # , @ , | ).
You can select the position in the csv file where the field to be searched will come from (i.e. where the ean13 field to be searched comes from, or the reference…).
You can select the position in the csv file where the stock field will be applied.
You can choose a “test” mode so that the results will not be applied to the database, but you will see the results of how the update would have looked.

Remote use of the stock updater

Allows you to configure the following options:

Field to be searched for the stock update (can be ean13, reference, supplier reference and product ids).
You can configure whether or not the csv file to be uploaded includes a header to skip it.
You can choose the delimiter of the csv file for separating the fields (semicolon, comma, ^, # , @ , | ).
You can select the position in the csv file where the field to be searched will come from (i.e. where the ean13 field to be searched comes from, or the reference…).
You can select the position in the csv file where the stock field will be applied.
http address from where to download the file (if the web has user and password can also be configured), in the same box you can also configure ftp addresses from where to download the file (BUT the csv file must be in the connection folder, if you have to connect and enter in different folders is not contemplated …. This would be strange because the csv providers leave a direct ftp).
The remote mode allows you to configure if you want to receive emails with the registration of the configured process an email that by default is from the store administrator.
The remote mode, once the connection data for the csv download has been saved, can be called on a scheduled basis by means of a cron job.

Special features of the stock updater

An ean13 field, internal reference or supplier reference can exist in more than one product and in more than one combination if the store administrator would like, this module will change the stock in ALL those products and combinations.
If stock is changed by searching for product ids, the module will change the stock to all combinations of that product id.
It is strongly recommended to do the following before executing the module.
1) make a backup before performing the updates.
2) always test with small files to check that everything works.
A “test” mode can be chosen so that the results will not be applied to the database, but you will see the results.
